Ten visits. 1,000+ animals treated. A world of difference to this island community.
Over the past three years VBB, in partnership with Animal Welfare League QLD, has undertaken ten trips to Thursday Island in Far North Queensland.
Over that time, we’ve seen a vast improvement in the health and welfare of the islands animals. A visit in March 2024 included a visit to Bamaga at the invitation of the Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council (NPARC). Over the course of three days, our team of four vets and four vet nurses treated 172 dogs, 1 cat and a horse. All animals were wormed and provided with parasite treatment. Forty-four dogs were desexed.
