Small animal veterinary work in Botswana

With outreach to remote communities

Maun Animal Welfare Society (MAWS) is located at the gateway of the Okavango Delta and its renowned African wildlife. The charity works to improve the welfare of domestic animals in Botswana and also importantly helps prevent the spread of parvo and distemper virus to African wild dogs and lions through its vaccination of domestic dogs.

Their purpose-built veterinary clinic handles high volumes of surgeries from routine desexing to emergencies including traumatic injuries and wounds, plus complex medical cases, infections, and transmissible venereal tumours.

MAWS also runs outreach programs to local villages offering desexing and vaccination of companion animals.
